Dear Jacobs Camp Family,
Last year, the Jacobs Camp family celebrated our milestone 50th summer. We began 2020 on a road to the next chapter of our storied history. As you know, the COVID-19 pandemic forced us to detour from this path when we had to cancel in-person camp this summer.
Now, I’m so pleased to tell you that we have already begun actively planning for in-person activities at Jacobs Camp for Summer 2021!
You understand the critical importance of camp and the grave loss of a missed summer. I know, because you supported Jacobs Camp in the past.
This year, while the professional team works through all of the details to ensure that our campers and staff have a healthy, safe, and successful summer, we need your help to ensure that children whose families were impacted by the economic downturn can still experience a transformative summer at Jacobs.
Thanks to generous donors to the Sustainability Campaign that ended in August, we have a head start on our camper scholarship needs for 2021, but we know we will need to award an additional $100,000 this year. AND, we are estimating that the cost of extra precautions to operate safely next summer will be at least $50,000.
After our detour, we are on the road to bringing our amazing campers and talented staff home to create the Jacobs Magic once again during a healthy, safe, and successful summer in Utica. We are on the Road to Welcome Home!
To help us on our mission to open our iconic gates in 2021, please consider making a donation to our Road to Welcome Home Campaign today by going online to www.jacobscamp.urjyouth.com/road right now!
L’Shalom,
