Stay in touch all year

While camp happens during the summer, the Jacobs community exists year-round! To keep up with all of the happenings at camp year round, like our page on Facebook. We continue to update our blog throughout the year as well as throughout the summer. Make sure that you are subscribed to our blog to know when it gets updated. We work to make camp better for every camper, and many times this comes from our families. We are available by phone, mail, or email to talk about how we can make camp the best possible experience for your camper!

Takeaways

When your child is at camp, they are going to have a a great time, build some incredible friendship, and make some amazing memories that they will carry with them the rest of their lives.

But, the camp experience is loaded with takeaways for kids - things that will help them in so many ways as they navigate their lives, and things that will help you in your quest to successfully raise up your child.

  • Better able to keep up with their own things and manage their own stuff.
  • Better able to follow a schedule, and to plan ahead for the day.
  • Improved communications skills.
  • Greater self confidence and maturity.
  • A greater willingness to try new things and push one's self.
  • Camp is a safe place to make mistakes, and learn from them.

  • Improved self-confidence - if I can make it at camp, perhaps I can make it anywhere!
  • Improved friendship-making skills.
  • Camp speaks and tends to our core needs for community, care, love, safety, celebration and legacy.

  • Jewish knowledge.
  • Stronger Jewish identity.
  • Self-confidence as a Jew - maybe it will mean a child who will stand up for their beliefs, or maybe it just means a child who won't be shaken
  • or deterred when those beliefs are questioned.
  • An enthusiasm for seizing moments to celebrate the blessings of life.

  • Improved skills in areas of recreational interest (especially for Maskilim & Talmidim campers' specialty camps).
  • Improved teamwork skills, better "sportsmanship" (even for those who don't do sports!).
