A Word from our New Assistant Directors

Jacobs Camp Family,

Words cannot describe my excitement about becoming an Assistant Director at our camp. Clearly the shoes left for me to fill by my predecessor, Adam O., will be large because of the commitment, joy, and success he brought to this job and community. I am so looking forward to working with Anna, Sarah, and all of you to continue to grow our camp and make each summer at Jacobs more magical than the last. The Assistant Director position at HSJ is my dream job and I am so fortunate and humbled to call it my work, even though I know it will never feel like it! Jacobs Camp is my home away from home and the community that we create here is my family. I promise that we will work everyday to make sure our campers feel the same way and one day be conscious of the unique and awesome Jewish place we create in Utica, MS every summer.

Thank y’all,

Joshua

In previous years, I’ve had many roles at camp. I was a camper, counselor, and unit head. Every single one of those positions have taught me new things both about myself and the world around me. At the end of this summer, I am starting my new role as both an Assistant Director to camp and the NFTY Southern Regional Advisor. Camp has always been a place that is safe for me to be myself and learn life lessons along the way. To finally be able to say that I am an Assistant Director of my favorite place is such a wonderful feeling and I truly can’t wait to see what this year brings. My goal is to provide all our campers with the same place that was given to me, and I know that our amazing staff can do it. Joshua, Anna, and I are already working on Summer 2018 and we know that it is going to be fantastic and truly the summer of a lifetime! Thank you for this amazing opportunity, I can’t wait to see what we accomplish in the coming years!

Thank y’all,

Sarah Tucker
