Humans of Jacobs Camp

“This is my eighth summer at Jacobs, and my favorite part of camp is the friendships I’ve made.  You get to live with them for six weeks, or a month and it is so special. It’s just not something we normally get to do at home. You grow so much closer to them than you normally would. Living with someone full time is hard to do, but it makes the friendships so much stronger!” -Abby

“Out of my five years, I’ve made so many amazing friends. It’s so fun to do different activities with people that are Jewish. At home, most of my friends aren’t Jewish, so coming here and being surrounded by Jews is so special. You get to laugh with them, and even though you aren’t from the same place, we all have one big thing in common, which unites us.” -JK

“This is my third year of camp and I keep coming back for the people. I only get to see these people once a year, and that makes our time together so much more important. We play together all the time, we challenge each other, and we even eat meals together. I play a lot of sports at camp, and I’m really glad I do because all my friends really like sports too, so it’s something we can do together.” -Nathaniel

“My favorite part of camp is when you get here and see all your friends from the year before. It’s really great because there is nothing like being surrounded by these people that you only see once a year. It’s so fun to see your friends and run up to them and hug them and just cry because you’re so happy to see them. My friends here are really important to me because we have so many things in common, and get to live together for a whole month!” -Sofia
