Humans of Jacobs Camp

“At camp you get to do a huge variety of activities with your friends that you can’t do when you’re at home. When we’re here, we can climb the tower, play adventure games, and do a zipline! Those aren’t things that I can do at home with my friends, but here, it is just normal. Its natural. We always do new and exciting things that are specific to Jacobs Camp and the people here. I love it and the community it creates!” –Jackie

“We had muffins for breakfast the other morning and they were honestly amazing. The food is great because its stuff I don’t normally eat at home, like chocolate muffins for breakfast. They’re so gooey and amazing. We had pasta and meatballs the other night too, which was really good. I love when we have theme nights for dinner–like rib night and Italian night.” –Jack

“I love Maccabiah! Its a time when being competitive matters, and we get to show what we are good at! Every year there is a new theme and they are always so fun and exciting. I’m really curious what this year’s theme is, but I’m mostly excited to see all the posters in the Dining Hall when we go in for the first time. I like sitting with our colors because it lets us sit with friends that we don’t usually get to sit with when we sit by cabin.” –Madison

“The first few days of camp are always really exciting because right when you see your friends for the first time, you get to run up to them and hug them like crazy. You’ve gone all year without really seeing them, so it is an amazing feeling when you get to finally see them again. A lot of my friends do visual arts for their specialty camp and it was a perfect fit for me. I get to do art and hang out with my best friends. Its the best of both worlds.” –Reyna
