Alex Goldstein–Performing Arts Senior Specialist
I’ve spent almost my whole life at Henry S. Jacobs Camp, first starting in 2002 as an Olim camper where I had Anna B. Herman as my Olim Unit Head. I went all the way to Chalutzim in 2011. I always knew that I wanted to give back to the community, so in 2014, I applied to be a counselor. Who knew that 3 years later, I would still be here as the Performing Arts Senior Specialist teaching campers and being a Jewish role model.
I have learned many things in my years as a staff member here like communication and leadership skills. These skills have helped me get one of my dream jobs with the Walt Disney Company. I worked at Hollywood Studios as an Attractions Host for the shows Fantasmic! And Beauty and the Beast Live on Stage. This was a life changing experience, one that made me realize what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I had to use all the skills that Jacobs Camp has given me to be successful at my job. I came back to camp this summer after working at Walt Disney World because I wanted to bring back the skills that I have learned to this community.
My time with the Walt Disney Company has been a life changing experience and I have Jacobs Camp to thank for this. Camp taught me how to be a leader in my community and how to communicate efficiently and resourcefully. I am truly grateful for the community that I was given at Jacobs Camp since I was six years old and I can’t wait to see what is ahead in my future whether it be Disney World or right here at Henry S. Jacobs Camp.
