Humans of Jacobs Camp

“This summer is my first summer on staff, and I’m a Gesher. I choose to come back every year because I can’t imagine my summers without Jacobs. My siblings are here and we just have this amazing environment to grow, learn, and experience new things together. During song sessions, I like to look around the room and notice that everyone is involved. Nobody is just off to the side not having fun. We have such an inclusive environment and I can’t imagine spending my time anywhere else.” –Elijah

“I’m really thankful for our wonderful kitchen staff. They make so much amazing food for all of us and they are so nice. I’m thankful for the infirmary for keeping us healthy, and my counselors for taking care of me and making sure I’m safe. Camp means a lot to me because it is such a fun place to be.” –Micaela

“They always add new things to the lake! I love all the new additions. The lake is my favorite because there are so many different activities to do—you can blob, slide, swim, or do the obstacle course! This is my third year here and I love coming back and seeing all the changes, but there are also so many things that are the same. I love my counselors and the kitchen staff. Everyone is so nice!” –Campbell

“My favorite part of camp is the community. As a staff member, it is really cool to come back to camp and see the kids grow and change every year. Now there are kids on staff that were campers when I first started at Jacobs. The development that happens over the course of a year is truly amazing to witness. Last year, I was the counselor to my Chalutzim little sister and I just think that is such a great opportunity and established a really close bond between us.” –Emma
