Dear Families,

This first full week of camp was incredible! Time is already going by so fast! Camp already feels like a family; new bonds have formed that span across age groups and cities. I know the friendships made here this summer really will last a lifetime.  Our first Shabbat together concluded with Havdallah in the valley, and Sunday morning campers dove straight into regular camp activities! By getting into our routine straight away, our campers have more time in specialty areas than in years past. They have begun working on their sports and aquatics skills, climbing to new heights on the tower, and producing some awesome projects in digital media, performing arts, and visual arts!

Olim had a busy week making ice cream using liquid nitrogen, having a snowball fight, and getting extremely messy at messy night! It is amazing seeing our youngest campers soak in all that camp has to offer in the ten days that they are here!

Garin is our biggest unit and filled with so much Jacobs Camp spirit! ! They have ventured into the Wizarding World of Garin, acted like chickens in the chicken coop, and played an awesome game of Family Feud! Garin has also spent a lot of time in their Chugim and Peulot (elective activities), such as wacky sports, adventure games, slack lining, lip sync battling, cops and robbers, and amateur radio!

Maskilim became Jewish superheroes, rescued their unit head from aliens, and learned all about the Pixar universe! Each Maskilim cabin also had theirbunk nights and a chance to camp out under the stars!

Talmidim is arriving back at camp today from their trip to North Alabama and Tennessee. The campers kayaked, rappelled, went to Six Flags, and more all in the span of three days. The trip really helped Talmidim create bonds as a unit, and I am happy that the trip was such a success!

Chalutzim has had a great week learning about Israel and camping out under the stars! Also this week, Chalutzim met their Garin buddies and talked about what it means to be a positive role model. I always love to see connections being built between some of our oldest and youngest campers.

We have had such a busy week, and we have another exciting one to come! This session is off to an amazing start! Enjoy watching our second week in review video, and make sure to stay connected by reading the Jacobs Journal and our blogs, and also by following us on social media!

Love,

Anna
