Dear Jacobs Community,

I can’t believe I am writing my last Shabbat letter to you! Our week has been jam-packed with fun and memory-making. This has undoubtedly been the best session of Jacobs Camp that I have ever experienced! I am very sad to see it come to an end, but excited for the sessions to come, friendships that have been made, and to see everyone on the road throughout the year.

This week, we had Maccabiah (color war) at camp. The campers were split into four different teams: red lions, yellow giraffes, blue elephants, and green alligators. Maccabiah is one of my favorite parts of camp, because the energy is so high and the schedule of Maccabiah allows campers of all ages to play together. The team spirit that each camper displayed was amazing! We brought back an old tradition of having an all-camp relay, which concluded with everyone jumping in the pool! At the end we all came together as one community singing the Jacobs Camp cheer and celebrating a blue team victory!

Garin and Maskilim both had very busy weeks from the staff talent show to messy night! Garin had a Finding Dory Pool program, and Maskilim learned how to be extraterrestrial spies. They both finished their week off with their final extravaganzas.

Talmidim also had a busy final week! Talmidim had the opportunity to show off their talents to their peers this week along with watching their counselors perform on the stage! They had an optional campout, and an amazing program with a visit from Miss Mississippi Teen USA! We will wrap up the week watching our Talmidimers show off what they have learned in specialty camp in our annual showcase—a much anticipated event!

Chalutzim went to the spa with avocado and cucumber masks, explored the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, and played a Revolutionary War themed capture the flag! On top of these fun programs, the Chalutzimers have had time to build their leadership skills and discuss issues that teenagers face. I am so excited to watch our Chalutzimers continue to grow as leaders this summer.

I wanted to thank you all one last time, because nothing that happened during this session could have been possible without our wonderful community! I always say that we have the best campers, and that is absolutely true; but, we also have the best parents, faculty, and staff! Please enjoy this session’s final week in review video showing all of the amazing things that we did this week. As always, we will be continuing to post daily updates on our social media!

Love,

Anna
