Olim Girls Pod Counselors

Olim Unit Head

Alexis Erdheim

Originally from Livingston, NJ, I now live in New Orleans and work as a rabbi at Congregation Gates of Prayer during the year. As a rabbi, I run our social justice committee as well as Tribe, a group for Jewish young adults to socialize, learn and celebrate Judaism. This will be my 4th summer on staff at Jacobs Camp and my 1st summer in my role as Olim Unit Head. I serve on the board of World Faith, a nonprofit committed to ending religious violence globally by empowering youth from different faith backgrounds to partner through community service.

My name is Sydney-Ellen Blen and I am from Memphis, TN. I am finishing up my freshman year of college at the University of Texas at Austin. I am so excited to be a counselor this year at camp and finally get back my typical summers spent in Utica, MS. This will be my 10th summer spent at Jacobs Camp! During the year I focus on school, meeting new people, and finding new opportunities that will help me with life after college. This year I have volunteered at a soup kitchen during the Texas snowstorm, tutor people in statistics, and coach elementary-age kids in soccer.

During the year, I volunteer for UGA Miracle, where we raise money to benefit Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.

Maddie Goff

I'm from New Orleans and I spent this past year as a freshman at the University of Alabama. I'm a camp counselor and this is my 11th summer at HSJ. In terms of volunteer work, I'm an upper staff counselor at Camp Dream Street-- a camp for kids with physical disabilities such as cerebral palsy and spina bifida-- and was a counselor for 4 years there. Can't wait to be back at camp and Roll Tide!
